Look for a good time to purchase rings, January Sales, just after Christmas when all the shops are trying to get you to spend your money because sales are low is the best time to grab a bargain or discount.

It is ideal if both of you can spend a little time browsing the shops and trying on different rings to decide on which style to go for, remember you are intend to wear your wedding ring for ever so choose wisely.

Wedding Speeches

Everyone gets nervous when making a wedding speech unless your a professional speaker but hopefully these tips will help you to get through you speech with no problems.
Guests at a wedding are usually friends and family so say what you got to say as if talking to friends and family and not like attending an interview.

If you get nervous when you think all eyes are watching you pick out a person from the guests you feel comfortable talking to and focus on them.
Be prepared with at least the opening line, It's often getting started that makes you nervous, once you have began your speech will flow.

Decide beforehand who to thank, most people won't remember if you forget them anyway, you can even make a short list to help you.

If you prefer you can write a speech and practice, If your not confident enough to write your speech yourself get a friend to help, two heads may be better than one, or if the idea of speech writing does not appeal to you at all you could use the services of a professional speech writer.

Points to note

  • Be yourself when talking, after all your talking to friends and family.

  • Write a short list of who to thank then you won't forget anyone.

  • Be prepared, practice a little, remember the opening line and the rest will flow.

Wedding Transport

We need some tips, ideas, suggestions or hints for this section, got some, then why not email them to us and we will add the best.

Wedding Venues

Choosing a wedding venue will be dictate by the number of guests you have attending your wedding. The more guests you have the bigger the venue has to be.

Other factors when deciding on a venue is whether you want part of your day to be spent outside and does the venue have the facilities for this, the time of year and the weather can also play an important part as you don't want to be outside in the winter months.

Having a venue outside your local area also has problems, can your guests travel that far, do you supply transport to and from your venue or will they have to stay all night and if they do where will they stay.

Have an idea of how many guests you will be inviting to attend, this number may increase or decrease so your venue should be able to handle each instance.

Points to note

  • Find a venue that can cater for your amount of guests, too many and some may be turned away, venue too big and it may look empty.

  • Enquire if a buffet or entertainment is supplied, some venues can arrange this for you and include it in the price.

  • If children are attending ask if there is a room or area that can be used to let them have time away from all the noise, a room with a TV and videos is ideal.

  • It can be quite a wait between getting the photo's taken and both of you arriving at the venue, have some entertainment such as a magician to keep the guests amused, especially the children.

Wedding Videos

Similar to choosing a photographer

Points to note

  • What sort of packages do they offer? - Most offer photography/videography packages now.

  • What length will the finished video be?

  • What format does it come in?

  • How much of a deposit do you have to pay, when is it due and when do you pay the balance?

  • Can you view some of their work?

  • Do they use lighting or depend on available light?
